METRO WEATHER, a Kyoto University spin-off, is revolutionizing air safety and infrastructure with its advanced Doppler Lidar technology. We are dedicated to visualizing wind and protecting the skies, enabling the "air mobility society" and enhancing disaster prevention by providing real-time, high-precision wind data.
Our core innovation is the Wind Guardian, an ultimate Doppler Lidar that is overwhelmingly small, high-performance, and significantly more affordable. Built on 30 years of Kyoto University radar research, our unique remote sensing and signal processing allow us to extract clear signals from noisy data using low-cost components. The Wind Guardian measures 3D wind direction and speed from atmospheric particles up to 15 km away with exceptional detail (0.1 m/s wind speed resolution, 10m distance resolution).
Complementing this hardware is our Wind Foresight system, a Multi-Scale Wind Forecast System (MWFS). This system uses high-resolution Lidar data for advanced meteorological simulations, delivering real-time, highly accurate wind forecasts from minutes to days ahead, ensuring a safer and more efficient environment.
Our technology delivers critical benefits across multiple sectors:
This comprehensive approach to wind visualization and forecasting makes a safe and comfortable sky a reality.
